Acácio Gil Borsoi Armchairs
Rare pair of lounge chairs designed by Brazilian architect Acácio Gil Borsoi (1924–2009). Manufactured in Recife in the 1950s by Casa Hollanda, these chairs were originally designed for the Ribeiro Coutinho family, one of Paraíba's most influential families.
The chairs feature flowing, sculptural lines and generous armrests, their warm, naturally patinated finish reflecting careful attention to both form and comfort. The chairs are made from solid Pau Ferro wood, a dense tropical hardwood often used as a sustainable alternative to rosewood. The upholstery has been renewed, while the original woodwork remains carefully preserved, retaining the integrity and character of these unique mid-century masterpieces.
